Who remembers the second ever post on Lookatthislittlething? Anyone, bueller, bueller…?
It was this: a story about the documentary film “Of Dolls and Murder” by Susan Marks, which details the Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death, dollhouse dioramas of crime scenes created by Francis Glessner Lee in the 30s and 40s.
I love this story, these dioramas, even though I’ve not yet seen the film. BUT there is an update! Susan Marks is making a follow-up film about Cynthia Von Buhler’s Speakeasy Dollhouse (kickstarter trailer below), where she re-enacts her own grandfather’s murder using dolls and a dollhouse.
If you’d like to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign for this documentary, here is the link. Donate $30 and you can get a copy of the original Of Dolls and Murder film!
